Happy Halloween!!! Another 1st for Lucas!

Well Halloween is here and thanks to Aunt Emmy and Aunt Nanna Lucas had some pretty cute outfits to wear!! Emily bought him a Penguin costume for "Begger's Night" (although we didn't go door to door with Lucas...we stayed at Em's and passed out her candy!!) and Hannah supplied the cute Halloween outfit for the day!! What a cutie! :)

Lucas the Penguin and Walker the Turtle!!

All the "boy" cousins...Turtle, Mario and Penguin!

Since Wyatt was Mario...and he just LOVES Mario...we thought it would be fun if Jacob dressed up as Luigi...plans failed when even the XL costume was extremely indecent on him!! So...I dressed up as Luigi! :) What a fun night!

Lucas was tuckerd out after a fun day!! Can't wait for next Halloween...you may just see a repeat of that turtle costume :)

Well we took advantage of the BEAUTIFUL Indian Summer weather on Sunday and headed south to Scioto Trails State Forrest.

It was a GEORGOUS day! We took the driving tour of the forrest and then stopped for lunch with Jacob's family.

AFter lunch Jacob and I climbed the fire tower with Lucas. WHAT A VIEW!!! (what a workout too! geesh) I might still be sore today...

Lucas loved every minute of it...I think :)

Lucas' 1st Photo Shoot!!

Ok, so I have to admit. I'm not your "typical photo" person. I really hate the "standard" and THRIVE on the creative. So...after seeing what the hospital pictures looked like...I decided to have my very own photo shoot with Lucas today. I think they turned out REALLY well!!

LUCAS MONROE IS HERE!!!!

October 3, 2009 is a day that changed our lives FOREVER!! At 4am my water broke and we were soon on our way to the hospital. After we arrived it was confirmed that my water did break and because we had chosen to do things "naturally" I was instructed to "start walkin"!! And walk I did...for about 3 hours we walked and walked and walked. My mom and Jacob's mom were at the hospital with us through the entire thing.
Making a long story short, I wasn't contracting like I should be and wasn't progressing as quickly as I needed to to go completely naturally without an excruciating amout of pain. We made a few revisions to our plan and one thing leading to another we were ready to start pushing at about 2:30am!! Lucas was born shortly after that at 4:50am and we couldn't have been happier!! We had asked the Doctor if it was ok if Jacob told me the gender of our baby, because we had kept it a surprise this whole time. I will never forget the tone in Jacob's voice when he said to me "It's a Boy Sarah, we have a Son!! Lucas is here!!" It was the most wonderful news I had ever been told!
Lucas Monroe Scott was born October 4, 2009 at 4:50am. He weighed 9lbs, 1oz and was 20.5 inches long. His head...14"...this is a big boy!! He is our pride and joy. He is a very laid back baby, with a head of brown hair...and he has his mama's blue eyes! We love him so much!
Thank you to everyone who prayed for us, encouraged us and were just "there" for us. We love you so much!

GIRLS NIGHT!!!

So my Oldest friend...and by oldest I mean the friend I have had the longest...Kristen came to Columbus on Saturday night to have a "girls night" with me! I was so excited because we haven't had a "girls night" since our first summer in Phoenix (2006). She has a little one and, well I'm sure I'll find out, those "girls nights" are few and far between!!
While she was here she helped me and Jacob make the cast of my belly! This is something I really wanted to do as a momento of my pregnancy!! We laughed so hard and had such a great time! It really turned out well!!

Then it was PEDICURE time!! YAY!! Do you know how long it's been since I had a pedi? I mean seriously!! We laughed so hard again...

There were a few too many bubbles in the foot massage thingy...but oh well! The pedicure was AMAZING and I had pretty piggies for my shower the next day!

I was so glad that she was able to come. Thanks Kris for all of the memories!! I love you so much!! :)

Build a...Monkey?

Yes, that's precicely it! We went to Build-A-Bear to see our good friend Dez. She helped us build a...ahem, Monkey! We debated and decided a monkey would fit our little one best! The Monkey's gender? Unknown, just like our little one...so we named the monkey LOVEY because, well just because really! Isn't it adorable??

We even put the baby's heartbeat in Lovey's belly...Thanks Dez for helping us create such a WONDERFUL memory!! We love you!!!

Baby Shower...ahh!

Well we have offically hit 36 weeks and are in the "home stretch"...or is that just baby stretching...yes probably! Life has been good and we are having a ball!!

I had my first baby shower and it was so much fun! Mom suggested a fun activity called "guess the gender" by having each guest buy us a small little gift that would indicate which gender the guests thought we were going to have. We got all kinds of pink and blue and the vote was nearly 50/50!

Thanks Han, Em and Mom for such a SPECIAL shower. I really enjoyed it!! It was a WONDERFUL day! I love you so much!

GO BUCKS!!

Ok, so we are really getting close at this point...to two major things: 1. Buckeye Football Season and 2. Baby's Birth!! I am pretty sure they are very closely ranked on Daddy's list right now! :) (just kidding!)

I had to laugh when wanting to put on a "buckeye shirt" this morning. Obviously, the ones I have are a good fit for my "normal body" and not my "pregnant body" but this one just seemed to fit perfectly. Best part about it...it was my dad's! He gave it to me about 5 years ago and I have worn it a lot.

I had to laugh this morning because I could just hear him saying "you'll put bumps in it" (which is something he always said to us girls when we asked to borrow a t-shirt or sweatshirt of his)...and yes, I'm putting ONE MAJOR BUMP in this t-shirt. Jacob's response: "I bet this is one bump he wouldn't mind at all."

So true.

Love you Dad. Miss you!

Closer and closer each day!!

We are really getting close to the end folks...and it's getting exciting! Just rounded 33 weeks and had another tummy check. I took my mom with me this time and she really enjoyed it! She got to hear the baby's heartbeat and feel it move too! Doctor says we are HEAD DOWN which is a real blessing!!

I am told nearly every day that I will grow exponentionally throughout the next 7 weeks...if I even make it that long! :) That's ok...I've also been told it will all be worth it!

We had our parenting class last night with some parents we really look up to. My cousins Ron and Kristen Sherer (parents of 5) opened their home and lives to us and shared with us a lot of what to expect in the coming days, months and years! We are blessed to have such great cousins! Thanks Ron and Kristen, you'll never know how much we appreciate it!! We love you guys!!

So here's to the next 6 weeks...or so :) We love you baby, pray for you daily and can't wait to meet you!

Baby BUMP!

Well BUMP is sooo true. Baby is moving around all of the time now. I am getting foot, elbow, hand or whatever jabbing me multiple times a day. Good to know the little one is active!
Hitting 32 weeks soon and I can't believe that I was once thinking I had 32 weeks to go!! It's amazing how time flies!!

Week 29

Week 30

Week 31

Baby is GROW, GROW, GROWING!!!! :)

Birthday Fun!!!

So this year I celebrated my 31st Birthday...and what a SURPRISE it was to meet my family at Fiesta Mexicana...to eat my favorite food! Mom, Han, Em and all the kiddos were there to surprise me, and yes, have them bring the Sombrero and sing Happy Birthday to me! FELIZ CUPLEANOS indeed! It was a VERY special day...I really appreciated it and enjoyed spending my favorite day with my favorite people!!

The Whole gang!!!
Allie, Hannah, Zoey, Me, Wyatt, Emily and Walker

Em, Me, Han and Mom

THEN....
On my actual Birthday, Jacob planned an entire day of fun for me. It was great to just be together. I got up when I wanted, finally showered and out the door we went, about 11:30. First stop...FIRST WATCH! YAY for Floridian French Toast!

Jacob had Eggs and Ham Steak and Potatoes...typical! :) We drove around and looked at houses, that we will one day have (no more apartments soon!!) and just spent the day doing fun stuff together. Just before nap time...I decided it was time for a little Rita's. If you haven't experienced Rita's yet...you must! It's AMAZING!!

I also got to have dinner at Longhorn, compliments of my AMAZING mother! Thanks Mom!! Not only for Longhorn, but for birthing me 31 years ago...I appreciate what you had to endure to give me such a great life!!!

My 1st "MOM" haircut.

"Before"

"After"

Ok, so I HAD to get my hair cut. I just couldn't stand it any longer. They say as life changes for a girl, so does her hair. So I went short...and I haven't been this short in a long time! But I love it!

Enjoy the Before and After pics!! :)
